Keep reading below for more information.

Take Advantage of Fruit!

Though they can be just as delicious and enjoyable on their own, summer is the season for incorporating all types of fruit into your meals. When it comes to breakfast meals, fortunately, there is a multitude of ways you can brighten them up with fruit this summer. Some examples of this include:

  • Pancakes with strawberries, blueberries, etc.
  • Waffles with strawberries, blueberries, etc.
  • French Toast with strawberries, blueberries, etc.

If these options are a bit too on the sweet and sugary side for you, consider more middle-of-the-road options, such as:

  • Oatmeal with fruit
  • Cereal with fruit
  • Yogurt with fruit

Fruit tastes great, is high in fiber, and is full of essential vitamins and minerals your body is powered by. All of these meals are great, summeresque options to get your day started on the right foot, and we are happy to offer many of them right here at The Breakfast Club!

Bell Peppers: In Season but Delicious Year-Round

On the opposite end of the taste spectrum, we have more savory and spicy food items, namely bell peppers, which enter their season of peak ripeness during the summertime. Bell peppers were not conventionally considered to be much of breakfast food, at least here in the United States, until Mexican/Western inspired cuisine rose in popularity. Since then, diners are now almost guaranteed to have some iteration Western or Tex-Mex dishes – and that includes us here at The Breakfast Club! Some popular examples of dishes with bell peppers include:

  • A western-inspired breakfast skillet (scrambled eggs, home fries, bell peppers, onions, etc.)
  • A western-inspired omellette (with pico de gallo, bell peppers, onions, etc.)

Bell peppers are a versatile food, and can appear in all sorts of dishes for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If your breakfast dish needs more texture and taste – consider including bell peppers for delicious results!
